Dr Pradip Sharma

Dr Pradip Sharma is a man of multifarious activities, known for his teaching, speeches, organizing abilities, research and paintings. He not only nurtures young talents to reach their fullest potential but also inspires people of all ages through his popular radio talks and public speeches. Handling a large number of projects, consultative works, and memberships in many governmental advisory and technical bodies has made him an invaluable resource for young researchers.

Retired as an Associate Professor in Geography from Cotton College, Dr. Sharma began his teaching career in 1978 at Nowgong College and joined Cotton College in 1987. Over the years, he has shouldered many responsibilities both in teaching and administration.

Originally from Nagaon and having spent his childhood on the bank of the river Kalong, he completed his schooling at Nowgong Montessori School and Nowgong Govt. Boys’ HS School. He earned his Bachelor’s degree with honors in Geography from Cotton College, and went on to obtain his Masters, M.Phil, and Ph.D. from Gauhati University.
